We’re in the last little bit of Lent and I can’t help but think about Easter decorating and festivities. As I’ve mentioned in the past, Easter is one of my favorite holidays (ok, ok, I say that about every holiday). I do love Easter, though. I think it’s the newness it brings after the winter months. Everything feels alive and happy! Why not bring a little happy to your home and Easter lunch?

I saw this idea on www.southernliving.com, a jelly bean tree! It appears to be easy and cute. Simply gather twigs from your yard and hot glue jelly beans onto the ends of the branches. Place in a vase or urn for an instant centerpiece. I like this not only for its cost effectiveness but because it gives a lot for the eye to look at which makes the centerpiece appear bigger taking up more space.

Tulips are one of my favorite flowers for home use. They are easy to arrange...like literally, you snip the bottoms, throw them in a vase, and let them fall where they may. They work well for just about any holiday or event. I’ve even used red and white tulips mixed with my Christmas table. Easter just screams, “Tulips for the table!” You can’t go wrong with them, so I encourage you to budget in an extra $10 for your Easter dinner table and buy a bundle of them. You won’t regret it.

Of course, you can’t have Easter without Easter eggs. This is where the kids come in. Let them use their creative minds to create Easter eggs for your table. Display them in a beautiful crystal vase. I also love the beautiful soft hues of farm fresh eggs. The blues and browns and certainly a gift from nature. There is certainly no need for dye on these beauties.

Until next week, have a great weekend!
