Howdy, everybody! Long time no-see... or is it talk? Maybe type? Anyways, Momma Wise is a little busy this week so I thought why not take the load off of her and write a little something for y’all.

Instead of my usual “Eating Wisely” topic of food let’s do something a little different – how about the topic of moving? As some of you know I have been an employee of 5NEWS in Fort Smith for just about two and half years now, so I am finally making the move to Northwest Arkansas to work in our brand new state of the art building. (Don’t worry we won’t forget about you; I promise to still be the girl in the newsroom fighting for all of the Leflore County stories.)

It has been a long time coming but I have finally found the perfect rental home in Springdale – the only downside to the new home is having to pack up all of my junk. If you know me you know I am the most type A human alive... literally everything must be color coded and labeled, so I thought I should share some of my handy-dandy type A moving tips. Let’s get started:

First, it is important to give yourself plenty of time before the move, if possible, to go through your closet or maybe that junk drawer and decide what you REALLY need and what you can probably live without.

Second, it may feel like a pain at the time but you should clearly label every single box with the following information: room the contents reside in, what exactly is in there, and how important is it to get that box un-boxed first.

Third, when packing decorations give them a good wipe down and make sure they are really clean – almost like new – so when you do un-box them they are ready to hang or display again without all of the hassle of cleaning.

Fourth and final tip, reuse as many amazon boxes as possible but it is okay to splurge on a few of those fancy boxes. My must-have splurge supplies are: wardrobe boxes, kitchen dish set packing kit, and cup divider inserts for your small boxes.

Hopefully, if you find yourself moving sometime soon or even just boxing up a few things you find these tips useful. Well, that does it for me – until next time!
