Eugene Queener Obituary Featured

Eugene Queener of Spiro, Oklahoma was born September 10, 1927 in Stapp, Oklahoma to Jack and Effie (Corley) Queener and passed October 11, 2017 in Talihina, Oklahoma at the age of 90.


Eugene is survived by 6 daughters; Judy Marrs and husband Dan of Nowata, OK, Virginia Hendren and husband LeRoy of Jay, OK, Shirley Copeland and husband James of Yukon, OK, Cheri Fulks of Talihina, OK, Debbie Akers and husband Doyal of Spiro, OK, Kimberly Montgomery and husband Mike of Mounds, OK,4 sons; Eugene Queener and wife Marykay of Poway, CA, Mike Queener and wife Gay of Canonsburg, PA, Gordon Queener of Maysville, OK, Rodney Strope and wife Doris of Warner, OK 20 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild.


He was a Deacon at South Coffeyville Baptist Church, a member of the Spiro VFW post #4884, and a Veteran of the United States Army serving in The Korean Conflict.


Mr. Queener loved to fish and coon hunt and was an avid card player. Mr. Queener was a retired teacher, coach and principal for 34 years.

Eugene was preceded in death by his first wife; Betty Sue Queener, his second wife; Phyllis Joy Queener, his sister; Belle Welton, and one granddaughter Erica Ladd.


Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Tuesday October 17, 2017 at Victory Worship Center in Spiro, OK with Reverend Brian Fouts officiating, burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, OK. under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Oklahoma.


Pallbearers will be His Grandsons.


The family will greet friends Monday evening from 5-7 pm at the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home in Spiro, Oklahoma.
