George Wellington Foster, Jr Obituary Featured

George Wellington Foster, Jr. of Howe, Oklahoma was born January 18, 1938 in Guthrie, Oklahoma to George, Sr. and Alice (Miller) Foster and passed away December 5, 2017 in Heavener, Oklahoma at the age of 79.

 

He is survived by:

His wife of 59 years:
Patsy Foster of the home

Three sons:
Brett Alan Foster and wife Kathy of Great Bend, Kansas
Wade Scott Foster and wife Julie of Great Bend, Kansas
Michael Lee Foster and wife Sandy of Choctaw, Oklahoma

His mother-in-law:
Mildred Abercrombie of Wichita, Kansas

Seven grandchildren:
Brian Foster, Kacie Kilgore, Michael Charles Foster, Tyler Wynn, Garrett Foster, Holly Foster, and Bailey Foster

Five great-grandchildren:
Luke Kilgore, Alexi Foster, Hendrix Foster, Ryder Wynn, and Benjamin Kilgore

Numerous other loved ones and friends

 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lenora Brack. George was a retired Superintendent for AL Abercrombie, Inc for 35 years in Grand Bend, Kansas.

 

He was also part owner of Sons Service, Inc. George was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. George was everyone’s friend who loved fishing, shooting sports, and helping people.

 

One of his favorite hobbies was designing Chevy dirt track cars and he enjoyed this hobby with his sons for over 40 years. His racing legacy spanned several states and many lifelong friends. George will be greatly missed.

 

Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home Chapel in Heavener, Oklahoma.

 

Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Heavener Fire & Rescue in care of Tim Davis, Fire Chief. Donations can be mailed to this address: P.O. Box 541 Heavener, Oklahoma 74937.

 

Pallbearers will be: Brett Foster, Wade Foster, Michael Foster, Carl Shelton, Stewart Sells, and Roger Cheek.

 

The family will meet with friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
