James “Rusty” Russell Sullivan Obituary Featured

James “Rusty” Russell Sullivan of Hodgen, Oklahoma was born May 3, 1954 in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Leonard and Ruby Ann (Gray) Sullivan and went home to be with his Lord on February 9, 2018 in Hodgen, Oklahoma at the age of 63.

 

He is survived by:

His wife:
Karen Sullivan of the home

One son:
J.R. Sullivan and wife Jami of Quitman, Arkansas

One sister:
Pattye Cantu of Nashville, Tennessee

Five grandchildren:
Darrick, Weston, Reilly, Cailyn, and Josie Sullivan all of Quitman, Arkansas

Numerous loved ones and friends

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Heath Sullivan; one brother, Mike Sullivan; and one sister, Nancy Seamen.

 

Rusty was a long-time resident of the area, a Disabled Veteran, a member of the Heavener First Baptist Church, a member of the American Legion Post 188 and VFW Post 8403, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America.

 

He was a veteran in the Vietnam era, where he served his country in the United States Army. Rusty enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by many.

 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Heavener First Baptist Church with Brother Brock Hardin officiating.

 

Burial will follow in Heavener Memorial Park under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral Home of Heavener, Oklahoma.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Gideons International in memory of James ‘Rusty” Sullivan.

 

Viewing will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday; 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday and Monday; and 8:30 a.m. until noon, Tuesday.
