Final Game Book, OU Updated Season Stats

According to the University of Oklahoma Athletic Department, The final stats are in from Oklahoma's Big 12-clinching 58-23 football win at No. 11 Oklahoma.

This marks Oklahoma’s ninth Big 12 title in the 17-year Bob Stoops era, as well as Stoops’ 11th season of at least 11 wins at OU.

Baker Mayfield threw for 180 yards and two touchdowns on 17-for-25 passing and ran for 77 yards and another score to propel OU to a 35-point road win, its seventh straight victory.

The Sooners dominated the second quarter (outscored OSU 30-10) en route to a 44-20 halftime lead, good for the program’s most points in a half since 2008.
OU racked up 524 yards of total offense, its seventh consecutive game with at least 500.

The Sooners flourished on the ground, outgaining the Cowboys 344 yards to 132 (8.2 per carry to 4.6). Joe Mixon rushed for 136 yards (9.7 per carry) and two touchdowns while Samaje Perine ran for 131 (7.7 per carry) and two TDs.

Sterling Shepard capped his regular season career with a game-high 10 catches for 87 yards and a score.

Cornerback Jordan Thomas was the star defensively, picking off two passes, one of which he returned for a TD in the second quarter.

The Sooners improved to 5-0 against AP Top 25 opponents this year at the time of competition. No other Big 12 team has more than one win against an AP-ranked foe.


OU is the only program in the country with at least five wins against AP Top 25 foes without a loss.


OU has outscored its last seven opponents by an average of 52-19.
