Saturday, November 10th is the 11th Annual Veteran's Day Parade organized by the LeFlore County Veterans Association whose purpose is to show appreciation and raise recognition for the contribution of all veterans from all eras, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Gulf War, Iraqi Freedom, etc.

This project is ran by a board of trustees representing the following veteran organizations; Heavener American Legion Post 188, Heavener Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) Chapter 784, Spiro Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 4884, Poteau Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 63, Skullyville Choctaw Veterans Association Post 4501, Heavener Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8403 and the Poteau American Legion Post 210.

These veterans raise money by selling ads to areas businesses.

The money goes towards prize money for the bands (each band will receive a donation). $1,500 also goes to the Talihina Veterans Center for the residents.

The parade will begin at Carl Albert State College, go down McKenna, turn left on Dewey Ave, then turn right at Harper.

Line up will begin at 9:00 AM. All bands will line up at the Reynolds Center, everyone else will begin at CASC.

After the parade, awards will be presented and a meal served at the Bob Lee Kidd Civic Center at the high school. The meal is free and open to the public.
