Carl Albert State College Announces First Official Signee to Cross Country Program Featured

Tryouts Scheduled June 27th for Additional Runners

 

According to a press release from CASC - Carl Albert State College is proud to announce the first official signee of the new Viking cross country program.


Zitlalic Aguilar of Western Heights High School in Oklahoma City, signed with Carl Albert State College's cross country team on May 23, 2017. Zitlalic, or Tally as she prefers to be called, was a 4-year letter for the Western Heights Jets in cross country. During her senior season, Tally helped the Jets win the Suburban Conference championship, as well as earn 8th place at the 5A State Cross Country Meet. When asked why she chose CASC, Tally stated, “Being a founding member of the new cross country program is very exciting.”


CASC cross country coach Aaron Emberton explained, “CASC is still looking for incoming freshmen to fill up the team, and there are scholarships available to those who qualify. On June 27th at 8 a.m. at the Poteau campus, there will be an open tryout for all who are interested in running for the Vikings next season.”
