Eastern to honor Women’s History Month with presentation by retired Lieutenant Colonel Carol O’Daniel Featured

WILBURTON, OK  – Eastern Oklahoma State College will honor Women’s History Month with a presentation by retired Lieutenant Colonel Carol O’Daniel on Wednesday, March 28. O’Daniel’s presentation is titled “A Few Good Women” and will cover the history of women serving in the military.


Her address will take place at 1 p.m. in the Tourtellotte Student Center Ballroom.


O’Daniel was commissioned in 1977 and her 28 years of service in the military has enabled her to speak with authority on the subject. Her service includes serving three years of active duty in the U.S. Army and also as a platoon leader for the 445th Military Police Company after graduating from the U.S. Army Military Police School based in McClellan, Ala.


O’Daniel found her calling serving in the line of duty and went on to become Operations Officer for the 45th Military Police Battalion in McAlester. Later in her career, she was named Commandant of the Oklahoma State Area Command in Oklahoma City.


Prior to retiring in 2005, she was serving as a media liaison officer at Joint Forces Headquarters, also in Oklahoma City. She is a graduate of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and earned her degree from William Woods College.


The event is free and open to the public.
