Fatality Collision near Talihina in LeFlore County Featured

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol a fatality accident occurred on July 12, 2017 at approximately 12:09 pm on United State Highway 271 and 401 Street, approximately two miles from Talihina in LeFlore County.

 

According to the OHP report, a 2005 Ford Explorer Sport Trac driven Francis Hignite 61, of Duncan was northbound on US271, when she departed the roadway to the right, overcorrected and rolled across the highway departing the roadway on the left.


Hignite died at the scene from multiple injuries.


A 15-year-old passenger from Duncan was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Sparks Medical Center in Ft. Smith and was admitted in stable condition with multiple injuries.

 

A 12-year-old passenger of Duncan was transported by Life Flight to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa and was admitted in critical condition with multiple injuries.

 

The accident was investigated by OHP.
