Our Oklahoma weather continues. We have two or three very cold days, then there are nice, almost spring-like temperatures. One day last week was about 70 degrees, then dropped in about 30 minutes to near 30. If the first twelve days of the New Year rule the year, we are in for a cold, dry 2018. One day when there was a cold drizzle, the top of Sugarloaf Mountain was covered with what looked like snow and/or ice.

I haven’t heard of any sick here in our area, but there is much around. The cold temperatures and sickness hurt the news here.

Daren Davis of Monroe visited his Aunt Deanna Davis and her daughter Delaina Saturday.

Melissa Ray and son Blaine and friend visited her uncle Mr. & Mrs. Don Garrett Sunday afternoon.

Mr. & Mrs. David Odom and children Bryce and Sarah attended the monthly singing at First Missionary Baptist Church in Howe Sunday night.

Darla Davis and son Daren of Monroe and her parents Mr. & Mrs. Don Shrum had supper with Mrs. Davis sister Deanna Davis and daughter Delaina Sunday night.

Mr. & Mrs. Don Shrum were Saturday evening dinner guests of their daughter Mr. & Mrs. David Deaton.

We were notified that our long-time friend Virginia Stanley had passed away. She and Jack had been friends of ours for many years. Our daughters had been in school together and played ball several years.
