GTO Coordinator, Marsha Schubert said the GTO Foundation had "about $120,000 worth of school supplies and are pleased to see teachers and students from all over the state benefiting from their donations." The Foundation also has given away 400 reading centers consisting of pillows and up to 10 books per teachers and over 10,000 binders just since Oklahoma school students were dismissed for the summer break.

The GTO Foundation’s mission is simple: Help assist Oklahoma school children with the supplies and tools necessary to be successful in the classroom. This non-profit was formed by Galleria Furniture Store Owners Gary and Terri Owens.

According to The GTO Education Foundation’s website: “The GTO Education Foundation in conjunction with Galleria Furniture is proud to support Oklahoma teachers. We strive to bring together community partners and other concerned & generous citizens to help support teachers across our state with basic school supplies.

The GTO Foundation at Galleria Furniture in Oklahoma City has been nominated for the Anschutz BLUE Award, which will be awarded to a community partner that goes above and beyond to service teachers throughout the State of Oklahoma in a way that is meaningful and impactful. These partners will promote civic engagement and civic literacy through advocacy efforts that directly influence Oklahoma Educators.

Anyone may vote for the GTO Foundation to receive the Anschutz Blue Award. You may vote once per day every day until September 30, 2018. To vote for The GTO Foundation, CLICK HERE.
