Press release

Veterans in rural communities across the State of Oklahoma will have access to the Mobile Vet Center (MVC).

Mobile Vet Centers are operated by the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Readjustment Counseling Services (Vet Center).

The MVC is designed to provide nonmedical readjustment counseling and outreach to Veterans and their families by addressing the social and economic dimensions of post-war needs.

The MVC will make stops as indicated below between the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM each day:

Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 Old American Legion Parking Lot
501 NE Washington BLVD
Bartlesville, OK 74006

Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018 Donald Reynolds Community Center Parking Lot
105 Reynolds Ave, Poteau, OK 74953

Mobile Vet Centers are among the VA’s premier front-line resources designed to interact with Veterans in rural communities, at community events, and on special occasions. As an integral part of the Vet Center system, MVCs offer Veterans information on topics such as individual and group counseling, military sexual trauma, marital and family counseling, VA benefits, and community education.

Veterans and family members seeking information about the Vet Center or other Department of Veterans Affairs services can visit the Mobile Vet Center on a walk-in basis during this important state-wide outreach effort. The Vet Center looks forward to providing an opportunity to engage in face-to-face dialog with a VA representative within the local community. The Tulsa Vet Center (918) 628-2760 is located at 14002 E 21st Street, Suite 200, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74134.

At the foundation of the Vet Center Program is respect for the privacy of all Veterans and family members, by maintaining all information in the strictest confidence. Staff will not communicate or transfer information to any third party or agency without the written consent of the Veteran except in circumstances necessary to avert a crisis situation.
