Hitchita Man Pleads Guilty to Firearm Possession Featured

According to a press release from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma Jimmie John Likowski, 48, of Hitchita, pled guilty to Felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition

A crime punishable by not more than 10 years imprisonment, and up to a $250,000.00 fine or both.


The Indictment alleged that on or about May 21, 2017, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant, Likowski, having been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year, did knowingly possess in and affecting commerce which had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce.


The charge arose from an investigation by the Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.


The Honorable Steven P. Shreder, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.


Assistant United States Attorney John David Luton represented the United States.
