Press release

At approximately 12pm on March 9, 2018, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation special agents arrested an Oklahoma City area band teacher.

Earlier in the week, an undercover OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) agent began conversing with a male teacher via social media after he made contact with an out of state undercover agent posing as a minor female.
The man was wanting to have sex with who he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

The out-of-state undercover investigator contacted an OSBI ICAC agent to continue the conversation.

The ICAC agent, who posed as a 13-year-old girl, and the out-of-state investigator both agreed to meet the man at Quail Springs Mall.

The man arrived at the mall around noon hoping to meet both girls, instead he met more than some agents who quickly apprehended him in the parking lot.

During the investigation, OSBI agents learned Jason Ott 31, teaches band for 6th-12th grade children at Carl Albert High School in Midwest City.

Agents arrested Ott for two counts of Lewd or Indecent proposals to a minor under 16, two counts of solicitation of a minor by technology, and violation of the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act.

Agents with the Oklahoma Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations assisted OSBI in the investigation and arrest.
