Teen injured in accident near Heavener Featured

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, an injury collision occurred on April 7, 2018 at approximately 1250 pm on Hontubby Road, 900 feet west of Forestry Cutoff Road and approximately two miles east and one mile south of Heavener in LeFlore County.

According to the report a 2004 Toyota Pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old juvenile male, of Heavener was traveling westbound on Hontubby Road when he attempted to pass another westbound vehicle and ran off the roadway to the right and into the ditch. The vehicle then went into a residence.

The driver was not injured, but a 15-year-old juvenile female passenger, age 15, of Wister was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Sparks Hospital in Ft. Smith and later transferred to St. Francis in Tulsa, where she was admitted in stable condition with a back injury.


The accident was investigated by the OHP and the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office.
