The Spiro School Foundation held their Excellence in Education Banquet on April 18, 2017.


Masters of Ceremonies for the event were Sarah Bridges and Nicholas Grant.











2017 Academic All-Stars



Nathaniel Sebo
Son of Curtis Sebo and Christiana Rohmer

FFA 5 years; NHS 3 years; Academic All-Star 3 years; Newspaper 3 years; Junior Class President; Senior Class Vice President; Valedictorian. UAFS Chancellors Leadership Council Scholarship; District and State Entomology Awards. FFA Backpack Program. Recreational activities and hobbies are ATV riding, video games, shooting, paintball, Entomology, hunting and fishing. Plans to attend UAFS to seek a degree in the Science field and pursue a career most likely in the Medical field.




Keegan Caldwell
Son of Shawn Caldwell and Kari Weems

FFA 5 years, Officer 2 years; FCA 6 years; NHS 2 years; Baseball 2 years; Foot- ball 4 years. Impact Youth Group; Samaritans Purse. All-district Football; 1st Place 2016 District Agronomy; 1st Place 2016 OSU IT Agronomy. Recreational activities are playing sports, video games, and hanging out with friends. Hob- bies are video games and Agronomy. Plans to attend OBU and major in Pre-Law.




Madison Leah Pendergrass
Daughter of Ed and Donna Pendergrass

Softball 4 years; FFA 4 years; FCA 4 years; Student Senate 3 years; NHS 3 years; BPA 2 years, Parliamentarian; Cheer 2 years; Yearbook 2 years; Senior Class Presi- dent. Christmas for Special Needs; Special Olympics; Gold Out Cupcake War for Childhood Cancer. Plans to attend Carl Albert State College and pursue a career in the Medical field.



Scholarships and grants were presented to teachers as well.


3 Spiro Kindergarten Teachers 002

Kindergarten Teachers Lanila Sebo, Jeremy Harrison, Joye Jones, Abby Hogan, and Kelli Owens received $2,489 grant for Ipads



A grant for over $4,000 was given to MS teacher Donna Francis for Chromebooks.


4 Wyatt Milliken Top Scholarship 003

Top essays were Wyatt Milliken and Meagan Garris.

Top scholarship of $3,000 went to Wyatt Milliken and Blankenship Award of $1,000 went to Keegan Caldwell (pictured shaking hands with Nicholas Grant).


2 HS English Dept 002

 $2,100 for the H.S. English Department. Rashel Maynard, Kasandra Lovell, and Honei Blankenship  with Board Secretary, Spiro attorney Nicholas Grant received a grant for the Language Arts IXL program.





AES was  the banquet sponsor.
