RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced its Golfer of the Week awards for the sixth week of the fall season. Southern Arkansas’ Helle Leed claimed the Women’s award while Harding’s Mason Banger earned the Men’s honor.


GAC WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Helle Leed, Southern Arkansas, Sr., Vallda Halland, Sweden

Leed won her second career individual title after she paced the field by two strokes at the GAC Preview. Her individual title helped the Lady Muleriders finish in a tie for third as a team. Leed posted consecutive rounds of 4-over 76 to win by two shots. Leed lead all golfers in par-4 scoring, +3, for the tournament.


GAC MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Mason Banger, Harding, Sr., Southampton, England

Banger led the Bisons to their biggest win in program history as they claimed the title at the 20-team Holiday Inn Express Classic. He finished second in the individual competition, but in the team playoff, he made birdies on both playoff holes. He opened the tournament with a 4-under par 67, tied for his career low. Previously,


- Bryle Alcorn, So., Harding (Shot a career-low 74 in the first round; tied for seventh at the GAC Preview)
- Hanna Brauburger, Jr., Henderson State (Led Reddies to a 15-shot victory at the GAC Preview; finished second individually)
- Michelle Carr, So., Oklahoma Baptist (Shared fifth place at the GAC Preview.)
- Avery Struck, Sr., Arkansas Tech (Took second at the Midwest Classic as Golden Suns won team title by two shots)

- Luke Cornett, Sr., Arkansas Tech (Placed sixth at Holiday Inn Express Classic; Wonder Boys finished fourth)
- Kevin Elder, Jr., Southern Arkansas (Tied Kade Johnson at the low Mulerider at the Holiday Inn Express Classic)
- Nick Shapiro, So., Henderson State (Tied for fourth at Missouri Western State; carded a hole-in-one in the final round)
