NORMAN —The Oklahoma men’s gymnastics team continued to dominate weekly awards as Levi Anderson was named MPSF and NCAA Gymnast of the Week on Tuesday.

This is the third time this season a Sooner has collected national gymnast-of-the-week honors and the fourth time they have won MPSF accolades this season.

Anderson, who earned his first career NCAA and MPSF weekly honors, posted a career-high 86.100 all-around score, the second-highest score in the NCAA this season, last weekend as OU became the first team to pass the 420-point mark this season, beating Navy, 429.550-401.300.

Not only did the junior register a career high on all-around, he also notched career bests on still rings (13.900) and parallel bars (14.250). Anderson was equally impressive on his other four events, posting season highs on floor (14.400), pommel horse (13.900), vault (14.800) and high bar (14.850).

After his phenomenal performance last weekend, Anderson climbed into first place nationally on all-around (83.000), fourth on high bar (14.283) and ninth on parallel bars (14.167).

Anderson and the Sooners have a week off before returning to McCasland Field House for “Senior Night” on March 10 at 7 p.m. against California.

They will honor seniors Hunter Justus and Reese Rickett in the final home meet of their storied careers.
