NORMAN – After helping Team USA take fourth in the men's team final Monday at the 2018 World Championships, OU senior Yul Moldauer placed 12th in the all-around final this morning in Doha, Qatar, with an overall score of 81.932.

The Arvada, Colo., native started the day on still rings where he tallied a 13.466, before posting a big vault score of 14.400. Moldauer finished with his highest score on parallel bars with a 14.500 before tallying a 13.033 on horizontal bar.

In his final two events, the OU senior scored a 14.333 on floor exercise and 12.200 on pommel horse.

Moldauer improved his scores on four of six events in the final from the preliminary round and moved up to finish seven spots higher from his 19th-place position after the qualification round.

“Yul had to fight hard through the all-around finals,” said Oklahoma head coach Mark Williams. “He's still battling the bruised bicep. I'm proud of his effort today, he just ran out of gas on the last event.”

Moldauer looks to capture back-to-back World Championships medals in Friday's floor event final. Moldauer took bronze on floor exercise at last year's World Championships in Montreal.

The floor final and individual event finals will be broadcast live on the Olympic Channel Friday morning beginning at 8 a.m. CT.
