SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist announced the resignation of head softball coach Pam Fink Monday.

Fink is the winningest coach for all women’s athletics programs at OBU with 645 career wins in 25 years at the helm of Lady Bison softball. She guided the 2017 team to the NCCAA National Championship, the first in program history.

“It was an honor to serve the university the past 25 years. I want to thank all the young ladies who touched my life by being part of the softball program,” said Fink.

“I would like to thank Coach Fink for her commitment to OBU and the softball program. Over the past 25 years she has been the face of the program and has led admirably,” said Robert Davenport, OBU director of athletics. “Her commitment to her players was unparalleled as she really cared about them as athletes and people. She will be missed and we wish her the best in her endeavors.”

OBU finished with a 16-31 record in 2018 in the first season as full members of NCAA Division II. Fink will exit OBU with a career record of 645-644.

Fink was inducted into the OBU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2000 and holds the OBU record for season batting average as a player. She is the all-time leader in assists and her career .342 batting average is third all-time, behind two players whom she coached.

She also began the softball program and was the head coach at Sumter County High School in Georgia.
