Welcome to my weekly commissioners’ corner.
We continued working on Gassaway Loop this week. Reminder one end is closed while the highway department replaces the bridge on State Highway 83.
The public meeting regarding the closing of the road commonly known as Buck Creek Cut Through will be September 16th, 2024 at 8:30 A.M. at the Leflore County Courthouse in the commissioners’ board room.
This week we are blade patching and spreading asphalt on Rock Jail Road in Panama.
Oklahoma Department of Transportation will be continuing to chip and seal State Highway 82 North in Red Oak this week so expect delays as they improve roads in their department.
Reminder schools are in full swing now. If you see a school bus stopped with its lights on and sign out you must stop.
Please be mindful of our patch crews out this week as they are out working on roads. They work as quickly as possible but please be mindful of their safety too.
With schools being in session so are many sports seasons around the county. Please try and get out and support those teams and their coaches.
Tune into KPRV 92.5 on Wednesday mornings between 7:00 A.M. and 7:10 A.M for my weekly radio commissioners corner.
