RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the men’s soccer players of the week for the sixth week of the 2024 season. Fort Hays State’s Marcos German claimed Offensive Player of the Week while Southern Nazarene’s Keshon Carter and Andrej Krivokapic earned Defender and Goalkeeper of the Week.
#theGAC/MIAA MEN’S SOCCER OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Marcos German, D, Fort Hays State, Gr., Madrid, Spain
German led the Tigers in points last week as he collected two assists in both of their wins last week. Against Ouachita Baptist, his cross to Harrison Bensouda set up the first goal and his 86th-minute through ball to Jeremiah Johnson. Against Harding, he assisted on two first-half goals, a pass to Fabian Gylden Svensson and a cross to Tadhg Walsh.
#theGAC/MIAA MEN’S SOCCER DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Keshon Carter, D, Southern Nazarene, Jr., Trinidad and Tobago
Carter played the full 180 minutes in the Crimson Storm’s contests against Northeastern State and Rogers State. The defense allowed only 13 shots and six on goal against the RiverHawks. They limited the Hillcats to eight shots and just two on target. The Crimson Storm have allowed only two goals in their five-game unbeaten streak.
#theGAC/MIAA MEN’S SOCCER GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK – Andrej Krivokapic, GK, Southern Nazarene, So., Niksic, Montenegro
Krivokapic earned his third and fourth shutouts of the season in a win against Northeastern State and a draw with Rogers State. Against the RiverHawks, he made five saves. He made two saves against the Hillcats. He leads the league in shutouts and in goal-against average, 1.24.
