The Reddies carded a team score of 20-over par 300. Three – Lily Nelson, Madolyn Kost and Felisa Sajulga – finished inside the top 10, Nelson, the 2023 GAC Championship medalist, played her opening 12 holes in 1-under par before finishing at 3-over and in third place. Kost carded a 4-over 74 to claim fifth place. Felisa Sajulga, the GAC Player of the Year, made just one birdie, however her 5-over 75 placed her in sixth.
Sala helped the Bulldogs join Arkansas Tech in a tie for second place. She played her opening nine holes in 1-under. She finished at 1-over, one shot clear of the field. Drew Dodgion wrapped in a tie for eighth following a 6-over round.
The Golden Suns’ top four performers on Monday – Kylie Rehberger, Ellen Spigner, Jaylee Castro and Averi Mickelson – all finished inside the top 20. On the par-5 sixth hole, Rehberger carded the round’s lone eagle. She joined the group of seven tied for eighth following a 6-over 76.
Harding finished one shot behind the Bulldogs and Golden Suns – 10 in back of Henderson State – to claim fourth. Sarah Kmiecik played her first 13 holes in 1-over. Two bogeys and double bogey left her tied for fifth with Sajulga
Arkansas-Monticello secured fifth, followed by Northwestern Oklahoma State, Southern Arkansas and Southeastern Oklahoma State. All four schools saw its top performer from Monday post 6-over 76s. Shehna Akbary and Tori Milton spearheaded the Blossoms; Romane Lacoste paced the Rangers; Aubrey Marx led the Muleriders and Carley Button guided the Savage Storm,
Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazarene rounded out the standings. Morgan Simmons shined for the Bison with a 2-over 74 to sit one behind Sala in sole possession of second place.
Tuesday’s second round tees off at 8 a.m. Play begins off the first hole with Southeastern Oklahoma State, Oklahoma Baptist and Southern Nazaren in the first five groups. Groups featuring Henderson State, Southwestern Oklahoma State and Arkansas Tech start at 9:28 a.m.
