#theGAC FOOTBALL OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Andrew Edwards, QB, Henderson State, Sr., Bentonville, Arkansas
Edwards became the second player in GAC history to record a passing touchdown, a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown as the Reddies defeated Arkansas-Monticello, 48-18. He completed 19-of-28 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns. He ran for 75 yards. His reception, a 36-yard catch and run, came on the opening drive of the fourth quarter.
#theGAC FOOTBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Diego Sanchez, DB, Arkansas Tech, So., Houston, Texas
Sanchez led the Wonder Boys with seven tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss in their 28-23 road win against Ouachita Baptist. He added a first-quarter interception that he returned 61 yards. Tech has started 3-0 for the first time since 2017 and captured its first win against the Tigers since 2016.
#theGAC FOOTBALL SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Magnus Lepak, K, Harding, Jr., Tulsa, Oklahoma
Lepak converted all four of his extra points and made a 33-yard field goal in the Bisons’ 31-12 road win against Southern Arkansas. He added three touchbacks on his six kickoffs. For the season, he has made all 17 of his extra-point tries and 12 of his 20 kickoffs have resulted in touchbacks.
