RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC/MIAA men’s soccer players of the week for the third week of the season. Rogers State’s Louis Bassett won Offensive Player of the Week; Southern Nazarene’s Tiago Moreira earned Defensive Player of the Week; Ouachita Baptist’s Dillon Staal and the Hillcats’ Jaxon Kendall shared Goalkeeper of the Week.

#theGAC/MIAA OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Louis Bassett, F, Rogers State, So., Leicester, England
Bassett led the Hillcats to a 1-0-1 week as they finished the non-conference schedule undefeated. He assisted on Hayden Parker’s game-winning goal against UT Tyler. He netted the Hillcats’ goal in their 1-1 tie against No. 17 St. Mary’s when he scored in the 24th minute.

#theGAC/MIAA DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Tiago Moreira, D, Southern Nazarene, Jr., Famalicão, Portugal
Moreira helped the Crimson Storm secure a draw against Midwestern State on Saturday. He played the full 90 minutes and the defense limited the Mustangs to 11 shots, six on goal. He aided in the comeback effort as he scored his first goal of the season on a 79th-minute tally.

#theGAC/MIAA GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK – Dillon Staal, GK, Ouachita Baptist, Sr., Gonzalez, Louisiana
Staal came up with 13 saves as the Tigers split their two matches. He made eight saves against UT Dallas, his most in a game since he made 12 against Northeastern State on November 2, 2023. He followed up with five saves in a shutout of Texas A&M-International, his second of the season, and the seventh of his career.

#theGAC/MIAA GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK – Jaxon Kendall, GK, Rogers State, Jr., Owasso, Oklahoma
Kendall notched his fourth-straight shutout and extended his scoreless streak to 421 minutes, 16 seconds as the Hillcats defeated UT Tyler and tied No. 17 St. Mary’s. He made four saves against the Rattlers. hIs 0.33 goals-against average ranks third in Division II.
