Wayne was born on January 25, 1950, in Spiro, Oklahoma, to Lela (Lord) West and William Clyde West. He passed away on September 30, 2025, in Spiro, Oklahoma. On June 16, 1972, Wayne married the love of his life, Debbie West, in Pocola, Oklahoma, and together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, William West; and his sister, Virginia West.
Wayne spent his life working hard and serving others. He enjoyed working with heavy equipment and trucks, and served as the shop foreman for LeFlore County District 1. A skilled craftsman, he also ran a sawmill and logged wood, using the lumber to build many special projects. He was a true workaholic, happiest when repairing cars, tackling projects, or lending a helping hand.
In addition to his work, Wayne loved fishing and treasured time spent with his family. His grandchildren will always remember his pancakes, along with the laughter shared over his “famous” hobo dinner skillet creation. Wayne also faithfully served his country for nearly three decades, retiring as a Master Sergeant in the Oklahoma National Guard.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Debbie West; his children, Brandon West and wife Nicole, and Natasha Rachamsetty and husband Vishal; his grandchildren, Heidi West and William Reid West; sisters, Nancy Kinsley and husband Ralph, Judy Moore and husband Randy, and Mercelia Chandler; brothers, Carl West and wife Teresa, and Paul West and wife Julie; along with numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and many dear friends.
Pallbearers will be James Delt, Bradley Dedmon, Wayne Davis, Jim Gist, Gary Don Masterson, and Caroll Wayne Rogers. Honorary pallbearer will be Rex Butler.
