Redbud Classic brings women’s health to the forefront by supporting Oklahoma Project Woman.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 23, 2025) – The Redbud Classic Board of Directors selected Oklahoma Project Woman as the 2026 Redbud Classic beneficiary. The annual spring event, celebrating its 43rd year of philanthropy, fitness and fun, will take place April 11-12, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Nichols Hills and Jones, Oklahoma.

Each year, proceeds from the Redbud Classic directly support a local nonprofit, and since 1983, the event has invested nearly $1 million into the community. With thousands of participants taking part in bike tours, runs, walks and family-friendly events, every registration fee contributes to sustaining critical programs across central Oklahoma.

“Oklahomans who register for the Redbud Classic are doing far more than signing up for a weekend of fitness,” said Kristin Hersom, executive director of the Redbud Classic. “Each entry is an act of community investment. By joining us on race weekend, participants turn miles into mammograms, steps into screenings, and finish lines into funding for critical health services. For more than four decades, Redbud has proven that when neighbors come together for philanthropy, fitness and fun, we build a healthier, stronger Oklahoma.”

OPW provides access to breast health care for uninsured Oklahomans, including mammograms, diagnostic procedures and surgeries, at no cost to patients. Since 1998, OPW has served more than 76,000 women and men across 57 counties. In 2024 alone, OPW issued more than 4,000 coupons for breast health services, representing a 34% increase over the prior year.

Valerie Aubert, development director for OPW, said the partnership with Redbud will expand the organization’s reach.

“This support means Oklahomans without insurance won’t have to choose between paying a bill and getting a mammogram,” Aubert said. “With Redbud’s help, we can connect more patients to screenings and lifesaving care. It’s inspiring to know that every Redbud event registration will help us detect breast cancer earlier and provide a pathway to treatment for those who might otherwise go without.”

The 2026 Redbud Classic weekend will feature a full slate of events for athletes and families, including a 10-mile fun ride, 30-mile timed cycling tour, 50-mile fondo, 5K and 10K runs, a 2-mile walk and stroller derby, a wheelchair/pushchair division, and the Kids’ Fun Run and Woof Walk. Community celebrations, such as the Redbud Bash, will also return, offering music, food and entertainment.

Early-bird registration is now open at https://redbud.org, with rates increasing Jan. 1, 2026. Organizers encourage participants to sign up early and secure their spot. In addition to registering, Oklahomans can support OPW directly by donating or volunteering.
