RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. –  On Friday, the GAC Women’s Soccer Championships begins with its four top teams vying for an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. For the second time in program history, Harding will host by virtue of winning the regular-season championship. The event begins on Friday with two semifinal contests from Stevens Soccer Complex  in Seary, Arkansas.

In the opening match, set for 11 a.m., the top-seeded Lady Bisons face Northwestern Oklahoma State. In the regular season, Harding collected a 3-0 road win and a 3-1 home victory against the Rangers. Northwestern Oklahoma State seeks its first finals appearance and Harding eyes its first trip to the final since making three in a four-year span from 2013 to 2016.

In the second semifinal, scheduled for 2 p.m.,  No. 2 Southwestern Oklahoma State faces two-time defending champion Ouachita Baptist. Both regular-season contests resulted in draws. The Bulldogs and Tigers have won a combined nine of the 14 GAC Championship titles.
