Sharon Ann Strode, of McAlester, Oklahoma passed away peacefully with her family by her side on November 24, 2025, in Pocola, Oklahoma at the age of 70. Sharon was born May 15, 1955, in Poteau, Oklahoma to Loyd and Ann Ford.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Loyd and Ann Ford.
She is survived by her son, Chris Duncan and wife, Kristi of Poteau, Oklahoma; her daughters, Stephanie Rice and husband Kurt of McAlester, Oklahoma and Candice Sam and husband Bobby of McAlester, Oklahoma; her brother, Mike Ford and wife Sue of Poteau, Oklahoma, her sisters, Janet Owens and husband Alan of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Karen Harrison and husband Brian of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Christian Duncan and wife Tori, Cameron Duncan and wife, ShyAnne, Hailee Rice, Kristoffer Rice, Seth Sam and Heidi Sam; nieces and nephew, Zak and Keelan Fortner, Lexy and Ryan Garcia, Brian and Desiray Owens, Elijah and Robin Owens and Demi and Jake McMillin.
The Celebration of Life Services for Sharon will be held 10am – Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma with Gary Vancil officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, Oklahoma. The Family of Sharon will greet friends from 5pm – 7pm, Monday, December 1, 2025, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave Poteau, Oklahoma.
Pallbearers will be Chrisitan Duncan, Cameron Duncan, Seth Sam, Kristoffer Rice, Elijah Owens and Zak Fortner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ronnie Duncan and Gary Fortner.
