RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the GAC women’s basketball players of the week for the seventh week of the season. Arkansas Tech’s Logan Young claimed the Offensive Player of the Week award and Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Landry Allen earned the Defensive Player of the Week honor.

Young scored a career-high 31 and led the Golden Suns to a 99-71 win against Ouachita Baptist. She helped Tech outscore the Tigers 56-30 inside the paint as she scored 20 points on layups. She scored 22 second-half points as the Golden Suns outscored the Tigers 54-29 over the final 20 minutes. She added a career-high five steals.

#theGAC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Landry Allen, F, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Jr., Tuttle, Oklahoma
Allen grabbed nine rebounds and blocked five shots as the Lady Bulldogs defeated East Central, 61-60, on Saturday. She has at least four blocks in seven of her 11 games. She ranks third in Division II in blocks per game, 4.1. She added two steals, her sixth game with multiple steals.
