Private services will be held at Miners Cemetery in McCurtain, Oklahoma, under the direction of Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro, Oklahoma.
Sue was born on November 29, 1941, in Bates, Arkansas, to Reba Pauline (McCarley) Kirwin and M.L. Kirwin. She married the love of her life, Jerry Horton, on January 30, 1960, in McCurtain, Oklahoma, and they shared nearly 44 years of marriage together. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2002.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, M.L. and Reba Kirwin; her husband, Jerry Horton; and her brothers, Pat Kirwin and Jerry Dale Kirwin.
Sue was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her Lord, her family, and her home deeply. A faithful servant of the Lord, she attended church regularly, was a prayer warrior, and found great comfort in her faith. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly her pride and joy. Sue was a member of the Bokoshe Church of Christ and a graduate of McCurtain High School, Class of 1959.
She is survived by her daughter, Carla Lynn Bare and husband Greg; her son, Scott Horton and wife Shannon; grandchildren, Lindsey Eisenlohr and husband Michael, Garrison Bare and wife Kara, Breckin Horton, Kirwin Horton and wife Camille, and Caden Horton; great-grandchildren, Augustus, Evelyn Sue, Benjamin, and Luke; her brother, Jack Kirwin and wife Karen; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and loved ones.
