Scotty Dale Midgley

Funeral services for Scotty Dale Midgley, 78, of Wister, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Seventh Day Church of God in Wister, Oklahoma, with Lamar Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, Oklahoma, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, Oklahoma.

Scotty was born on July 31, 1947, in Wister, Oklahoma, to Lucille (Casey) Midgley and Harrell Midgley. He passed away on January 31, 2026, in Heavener, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandson.

Scotty was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy. He had a deep love for horses and enjoyed spending time around them.  Scotty also enjoyed playing the guitar. He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his sons, Mitcheal Sampson and Matthew Sanders and wife Lisa; his daughter, Tanya Parks and husband Kenneth; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his brothers, Vernon Midgley, Sr. and wife Ruby, and Marshall Midgley and wife Charlotte; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and loved ones.

Pallbearers will be Steve Rutledge, Vernon Midgley, Jr., Joshua Midgley, Logan Midgley, Trenton Sanders, and Josh Joyner. Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Midgley, Sr. and Marshall Midgley.
