With heavy hearts and deep love, we celebrate the life of a man who meant so much to so many. Known for his gentle spirit and kind heart, he was the kind of person who never met a stranger. If someone needed help, he was there—often quietly, without seeking recognition. His love for his family and friends defined his life, and he leaves behind a legacy of generosity, compassion, and strength.
Lawerence Williamson passed away March 5, 2026, at him home in Panama, Oklahoma. Lawerence was born April 2, 1951, to George and Bessie (Crook) Williamson in Tahoma, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George “Teddy Bear” Williamson and Bessie Williamson; his brothers, Edward Williamson, Johnny Leon Williamson, and Ricky Neal Williamson; his sisters, Willie Williamson and Myrtle Williamson; his beloved grandson, Trevor Ridenour; and his best friend, Roger Barcheers.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon Williamson; his son, Garrick Williamson and wife Melissa; and his daughter, Jennifer Milligan and husband Joe. He was a proud grandfather to Austin, Cody, and Abriena Williamson; Emma Williamson; Bobby Milligan and fiancée Tara Robertson; Tatum Lynch and husband Dakota; Caden Milligan and fiancée Hope Gotes; and Harlei Milligan. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Coby and Bosie Lynch, River Lawrence, and Mary Kaye Milligan.
He is also survived by his lifelong best friends, Coy D. Simpson, Donny Gollihare, and Jody Shepard; special family members Kali Pierce and Bella Crase; his brothers Elmer “Tex” Williamson and wife Bettey, Wiley Williamson and wife Gayla, and Elvis Williamson and wife Janie; and his sister-in-law, Gayle Williamson.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. The love he shared and the lives he touched will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. His memory will forever be a reminder of kindness, loyalty, and the power of a truly good man.
The Celebration of Life Service will be 2pm, Friday, March 13, 2026, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave. Poteau, Oklahoma 74953. Family Visitation will be 6pm – 8pm, Thursday, March 12, 2026, at The Cedars on Dewey 520 Dewey Ave. Poteau, Oklahoma 74953.
