The family will visit with friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Bryan was born August 13, 1967, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Nancy Ethelta (Warren) Murray and Jerry Wayne Murray. He passed away March 8, 2026, in Talihina, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Ethelta Lawrence; his grandparents, Jack and Lorene Murray and Thelma Blaylock; and his bonus granddaughter, Kelsey Strickland.
Bryan was a devoted sports fan, especially when it came to Thunder basketball. He spent many years coaching and mentoring young athletes in Pocola, Cameron, Clayton, and Bokoshe. In addition to coaching, he was a respected history teacher who deeply cared for his students. Coach Murray loved all of his players and students and served as a great inspiration to many.
Outside the classroom and gym, for many years Bryan enjoyed life on his ranch, where he loved working with his cattle. He also enjoyed playing pool and proudly taught his daughter how to play.
He is survived by his daughters, Julia Brandon and husband Travis, and Tashera Thompson; his grandchildren, Jase, Kamree, Daxton, Riley, Renesmee, and Brock Brandon; his father, Jerry Wayne Murray; his brother, Keith Murray and wife Mary; his nephew, Trent Murray and wife Morgan; his aunts, Dru Waren and husband Dennis and Carolyn Murray; and his uncle, Jerry Gregg.
Bryan is also survived by his beloved step daughters, Tiffany Wann, Chelsea Abshire, and Anika James and husband Jeremy; granddaughters, Alyssa and partner Wyatt, and Brilynn and partner Donald; and their children; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, students, and loved ones.
