On March 5, 2026, a show-cause hearing was held at OID’s offices before an independent examiner, at which Deberry failed to appear. Deberry was found to have misappropriated $22,433.65 in paid consumer premiums. OID revoked Deberry’s license and issued him a $2,000 fine.
This case began when Farmers Insurance Group filed a complaint on Dec. 19, 2024. The complaint stated Deberry failed to forward premium payments to the company.
Farmers’ internal investigation revealed that Deberry’s agency had $22,433.65 in missing cash premiums from February through September 2024. Farmers recovered $18,288.01 of the missing premium, but $4,145.64 remains unaccounted for.
OID and Farmers made multiple attempts to contact Deberry for an interview but received no response.
