After a competitive season filled with key wins and steady performances, the Vikings secured home-field advantage for the opening round, an achievement that carries added significance in this inaugural crossover format. For the first time, teams from opposite sides of Region 2 will meet in a playoff series, bringing fresh competition and heightened intensity to postseason baseball.
Carl Albert State College will host SouthEast Arkansas College in a best-of-three series on May 1 and 2 at Mark Pollard Field, weather permitting. This first-round matchup will determine which team advances to the next stage of the playoffs in Enid, as only the top six teams in the region move forward. In the event of inclement weather, fans are encouraged to monitor the Carl Albert State College and CASC Baseball Facebook pages for schedule updates.
“This is a big moment not just for our program, but for Region 2 baseball,” said Head Coach Paul Pulley. “To earn the opportunity to host the first crossover series speaks to the hard work of our players and coaches all season long.”
All games will be played in Poteau, and fans unable to attend can watch the action live on VikingTV.
The college is encouraging strong community support for this historic event. Admission is $5, and local youth are invited to be part of the experience; little league baseball players who wear their jerseys will receive free entry.
On Saturday, fans can also enjoy a $10 cookout lunch, featuring burgers, hot dogs, chips, cookies, and drinks.
