Doug was born on July 23, 1958, in Fort Smith, Arkansas, to Mary Lavern (Stout) Clark and Billy Gene Clark. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Clark; his sister, Shannon Clark Tanksley; and his brother, Jamie Clark.

Doug was baptized at Murry Spur Free Will Baptist Church, where he attended for many years. He began working at the age of 12 for Acie Joe Conrad at his service station and continued working throughout his high school years at Hays and West Grocery Store. As an adult, he was employed by Baldor Electric, Crain Industries, and Atlantis Plastics, where he was known as a dedicated and hardworking employee.

Doug loved the outdoors and found great joy in hunting, fishing, and raising beautiful vegetable gardens. He was one of the kindest and most caring people anyone could ever meet. Despite facing serious health challenges of his own, Doug devoted countless hours to caring for others. He lovingly cared for his parents for many years and provided exceptional care for his mother during the final months of her life. At the time of his passing, he was serving as caregiver to his father, Bill. Doug also played a significant role in helping raise and care for his great-nephew and great-niece, Jaxton and Jaycee Clark.

While he had a generous heart, Doug was also known for his sense of humor and occasionally ornery nature. He enjoyed teasing his siblings and cousins while growing up and never lost his playful spirit. His son, Douglas, described him best when he said, “He was a jokester. He was just an old kid. It was always a good time when he was around.” Doug’s warm personality, selfless nature, and unwavering love for family made him a truly remarkable man who was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by Sara Folsom, whom he often said he “loved more”; his sons, Douglas Clark and wife Drew, Jeremy Clark, and Matt Clark; his father, Bill Clark; grandchildren, Hunter Sparks, Scarlett Lacy, Sloane Lacy, Landen Clark, Mallorie Clark, and Willow Clark; nephew and nieces, Rick Tanksley and wife Neiki, Chasiti and husband Jesse Bishop, and Jamison Clark; his cousin, Jackie Knobelsdorff, who was more like a sister; Jaxton and Jaycee Clark, whom Doug helped raise; a dear lifelong family friend, Steve Brown and wife Stacy; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Douglas Clark, Jeremy Clark, Matt Clark, Hunter Sparks, Seth Dominic, Gabriel Dominic, Ethan Dominic, and Rick Tanksley. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaxton Clark, Kyler Tanksley, Jacob Tanksley, Caleb Tanksley, and Landen Clark.
