James is survived by:
Two sons:
Jordan Neff and Johnathan Neff
Numerous other loved ones and a host of many friends
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lewis, Sr. and Syble (Johnson) Neff; and one brother, Edward Neff.
James, a devoted resident of the area and a compassionate caregiver for Kibois. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, James found great joy in his faith. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era. Known for his love of church activities, fishing, and football, he cherished the time spent with family and friends. James will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
James’ memorial service to honor his life will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11, 2026 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day of Saints with Elder Eric Barlow officiating. Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 3, 2026 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith, Arkansas with military honors provided by the Poteau DAV Chapter #63 under the direction of Dowden-Roberts Funeral & Cremation Center of Poteau, Oklahoma. “LeFlore County’s First and Only On-Site Crematory”
