Rep. Eddie Dempsey

OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Eddy Dempsey, R-Valliant, today praised the approval of the County Improvements for Roads and Bridges (CIRB) Five-Year Plan for Fiscal Years 2027-2031, which invests nearly $950 million in county road and bridge improvements across all 77 Oklahoma counties.

“Strong roads and bridges are essential for the safety of our families, the movement of commerce and the continued growth of our communities,” Dempsey said. “I appreciate the Transportation Commission and ODOT for recognizing the importance of these projects and for continuing to invest in county infrastructure across Oklahoma. Maintaining reliable roads and bridges is one of the most important responsibilities we have, and programs like the CIRB Plan help ensure counties have the resources they need to make those improvements for the benefit of Oklahomans.”

The County Improvements for Roads and Bridges Plan, established by the Oklahoma Legislature and administered by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation, leverages state, federal, local and tribal funding to address county infrastructure needs.

The plan will improve 808 miles of county roadways and replace or rehabilitate 238 county bridges statewide over the next five years.

Rep. Eddy Dempsey, a Republican, represents District 1, which includes LeFlore and McCurtain counties.
