RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. –  On Thursday, the Great American Conference named Oklahoma Baptist track & field champion Jamora Horace as its 2025-26 Female Athlete of the Year.

Horace became the third Bison recognized as the Female Athlete of the Year. She equalled the feat earned by tennis All-American Kim Moosbacher in 2019-20 and softball ace Kayleigh Jones in 2022-23. Additionally, she became the female track & field athlete lauded with the league’s Athlete of the Year honor.

She became the program’s first NCAA individual national champion when she captured the title in the high jump. She won with a conference and school record mark of 1.87 meters. She helped the Bison to a 12th-place finish, their best ever at the NCAA Championships. At the 2026 NCAA Indoor Championships, she placed fourth to secure First-Team All-America honors.

Horace claimed the GAC Championship title in the high jump in both 2025 and 2026. She added top-three finishes in 2023 and 2024. She took fifth in the heptathlon in her freshman season.

Other nominees for the 2025-26 GAC Female Athlete of the Year award included Arkansas-Monticello’s Alindsey Long (Basketball), Arkansas Tech’s Ellen Spigner (Golf), East Central’s Winnie Kipsang (Cross Country/Track & Field), Harding’s Karli Roux (Tennis), Henderson State’s Lily Nelson (Golf), Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Kira Bass (Basketball), Ouachita Baptist’s Courtney Hanson (Volleyball), Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Carly Button (Golf), Southern Arkansas’ Emma Duncan (Softball), Southern Nazarene’s Abriel Thrash (Track & Field) and Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Freya Sala (Golf).
