Brenda Clark was born on August 5, 1956, in Poteau, Oklahoma, to Cecil Harrison and Novela Greer. A lifelong resident of Poteau, Brenda devoted her life to raising her children and creating a loving and welcoming home for her family.
Brenda was a woman of faith who found joy in crafting and creating art. She was talented and creative, often expressing her love and creativity through the things she made in her home. Above all, Brenda cherished her family. Her greatest joy was the time she shared with those she loved, and her love for her family was evident in all that she did.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Novela Harrison, and her daughter, Johnda Maxwell.
She is survived by her son, Michael Clark, and his wife, April Clark, of Bokoshe, Oklahoma; her daughter, Pamela Clark, of Fort Smith, Arkansas; her brother, Roy-Don Harrison, and his wife, Betty Harrison, of Texas; her sister, Trish Svien, and her husband, Mike Svien, of Texas; and her cousin, Hazel Maybry, of Poteau, Oklahoma. Brenda also leaves behind her grandchildren, Madeline Clark, Aaron Clark, RyLea Freeman, Gracie Nolen, Kobee Nolen, Jonathon Maxwell, Donald-Paul Maxwell, and Kristen Maxwell; and her great-grandchildren, Ayzlah, Arwyn, Beckham, Hollis, and Danielle, along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones who will cherish her memory.
The Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 16, 2026, at the Cedars on Dewey in Poteau, Oklahoma with Pastor Casey Clinton officiating. Honorary Casket Bearers will be Michael Clark, Aaron Clark, Jonathon Maxwell, and Donald-Paul Maxwell.
