Guests will still find the familiar favorites that define Haunt the Harn — trick-or-treating through historic buildings, hands-on crafts, games, wagon rides and the welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere that has made the event a staple of Oklahoma City’s fall season. This year’s new Tales & Trails theme adds a fresh layer of storytelling and exploration, inviting visitors to experience the historic property in an entirely new way. Families will encounter recognizable storybook characters, enjoy interactive themed activities, follow a lighthearted Sherlock Holmes mystery woven across the grounds, and end the evening with an atmospheric Storyteller Theatre presentation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow—all designed to make the Homestead feel like a living storybook world.
“Celebrating our 20th annual Haunt the Harn is a tremendous milestone,” said Executive Director Kelly Frye. “Bringing in Storyteller Theatre adds an element that feels like a natural extension of the event and elevates the experience in a really meaningful and fun way.”
Event Highlights
· Storybook Characters: Meet Dorothy, Alice, Peter Pan, Cinderella, Little Red Riding Hood, Hansel & Gretel, Sherlock Holmes, and more.
· Interactive Storybook Activities: Wonderland croquet, Lost Boy training, fairy godmother magic, Granny’s cottage visit, candy-trail exploration, pirate encounters, Oz interactions, and a property-wide Sherlock Holmes mystery for kids to solve.
· Trick-or-Treating: Candy stops throughout the historic buildings.
· Crafts & Games: Simple, family-friendly activities across the Homestead.
· Wagon Rides: Horse drawn wagon rides.
· Sleepy Hollow Finale: Storyteller Theatre presents an immersive reading of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
