Poteau Chamber Announces 2026 Christmas Parade Dec 5th
(Poteau, Oklahoma) – The Poteau Chamber of Commerce announces the 2026 Poteau Christmas Parade Theme—All American Christmas. “In our final event of our country’s 250th year celebration, this year’s theme will let our float participants use their imagination and creativity to help the parade-goers experience a different level of designs from what we’ve had in the past. Our theme, All American Christmas, will hopefully bring back memories of Christmases past and present that celebrate the spirit of our United States of America,” states Karen Wages, Poteau Chamber CEO and parade organizer.

“This year’s parade will provide a variety of colorful floats from the two-state area. Our Arkansas and surrounding LeFlore County neighbors like to come to participate in or attend our parade since it is one of the area’s first parades of the season, December 5th, beginning at 6:00 PM.”
Anyone who wants to enter a float can register online or download the registration form from the Poteau Chamber website (www.poteauchamber.com) and email or send it in. Registration must be completed no later than noon on Friday, December 5th or beginning on site at 3:00 PM on Saturday, December 5th.
Floats and other motorized entries will line up at Carl Albert State College, 1507 S. McKenna Street, Poteau, OK. All those wishing to be judged must be in line and registered by 4:30 PM on the 5th. Non-motorized entries (bands, those who walk, horses, bicycles, etc.) will line up at the Donald W. Reynolds Center parking lot between McKenna and Broadway no later than 5:45 PM.
Parade-goers can park along the parade route including on McKenna Avenue and Dewey Avenue or in one of the public parking lots in the Downtown Dewey District from Broadway to Harper and Sage to Reynolds.
The route will be the same as in previous year—from the CASC Campus down McKenna, then left on Rogers at the Poteau Fire Department and right on Peters to Dewey up to Harper. The Poteau Chamber will have emcees in front of the Purple Plume announcing the entries and winners as the parade makes its way down Dewey Avenue.
