Poteau, Oklahoma – Today (June 6, 2019) members of the Poteau School Facility Improvement team, Poteau School board members, administrators and staff of Poteau Schools, Michael Culwell, representing the Poteau Chamber of Commerce, along with Michael Riley, Architect, gathered to break ground on the new Seventh and Eighth Grade Center for Poteau Public Schools.
In January, Poteau voters went to the polls and voted in $14,875,000.00 Bond issue for a new seventh and eighth-grade center and a new two-story high school classroom building.
The construction projects are planned to be complete by December 2020.
Construction of the high school building is already underway with construction starting as soon as today on 7th and 8th grade center which will be located on Mockingbird Lane, next the Administration Building.
