POTEAU, OKLAHOMA - Eastern Oklahoma Medical Center in Poteau has been serving the needs of this community for over 60 years, combining the personal touch of a community hospital with state of the art technology.
The hospital provides a full range of medical services to the community and according to Amy Lomon, Public Relations Director, “EOMC is one of the largest employers in the county with 240 employees and $10 million in payroll.”
Lomon, spoke about the accomplishments of the hospital at the Economic Summit, held in Poteau on Dec 19, at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
“We have performed 200 surgeries, delivered 250 babies and had over 1400 visits to the emergency room this year,” said Lomon. “We have a very passionate group of physicians and nurses and starting in January will be introducing our hospitalist program.” Starting in January EOMC will start onsite billing, which will benefit the community with additional hires.
The goal of EOMC is to efficiently provide comprehensive personal healthcare services by making available modern medical equipment, specialized medical services, and medical knowledge which would be limited without proper facilities.
