June 13: Sir Charles Jones
Sir Charles Jones is a blues and soul singer who’s put out six albums since 2000 when he made his debut. His sophomore album, “Love Machine,” reached No. 28 on the US R&B and Hip Hop charts. Jones’ latest release was 2009’s “A Tribute to the Legends.”
Jones will perform in Pocola on Thursday, June 13 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased here.
July 3: Moonshine Bandits
The Moonshine Bandits are a California duo that performs country-hip hop fusion. The duo of Dusty Dahlgren and Brett Brooks have been together since 2003 and put out 10 albums and two EPs. Their latest release is 2023’s “Pour Decisions.”
The Moonshine Bandits take the stage at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.
July 20: Bruce Bruce
Bruce Bruce is a comedian whose big break came in 1993 when he appeared on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam. He’s since gone on to host episodes of BET’s ComicView and appear in multiple movies, including “Think Like a Man.”
Bruce Bruce will perform in Pocola on Saturday, July 20 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $40 and can be purchased here.
Aug. 24: Morris Day and The Time
Morris Day and The Time is a funk rock band that was partially formed by Prince in the 1980s. The band’s records were produced by Prince, and they went on the road with the icon as a supporting act. Morris Day and The Time put out five albums, with sophomore album “What Time Is It?” reaching No. 2 on the US R&B charts. Their most recent release was 2011’s “Condensate.”
Morris Day and The Time will take the stage at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 24. Tickets start at $50 and can be purchased here.
