Good day to everyone! For those of you that don’t know, my name is Grayson Wise. I am the daughter of Glenda, and that’s pretty cool to me (she’s pretty awesome, just saying).
Anyways, I am majoring in Art History and French at the University of Oklahoma, and I absolutely love it. I am almost finished with my first year of school, do you know what that means? It means… No. More. Dorms. It isn’t that the dorms are super awful, but I am ready to have my own space, especially a space that is not unworldly humid inside 24/7.
So, as I was saying, I am about to move out and into a new place for next year. I am going to get to start looking for new decorations and other things that you put into a home.
Things like: plates, rugs, other adult things, you know, the essentials.
Speaking of plates, I went to Second Chances in Poteau yesterday just to look around, but I ended up finding the most beautiful and perfect set of Metlox Poppytrail Provincial Blue dinnerware. I was pumped to see such a great set of 1960s dinnerware at such a good price. I bought the entire set for fifteen dollars. That is insane! If you try and buy this exact same set online somewhere, it’d run for over one hundred dollars, easily.
There are so many gems in a thrift store. Even if you don’t find what you are looking for, you’ll at least see some really interesting and cool things. Looking in these stores gives you a glimpse into the life of the people that owned it before you. It is like a way to keep a legacy alive. So, my advice to you: Go check out Second Chances or other local thrift stores, you never know what you may find! My next big hunt will be an area rug, so wish me luck!
