Family-friendly event will celebrate Route 66, historic transportation, classic cars, hands-on activities and Oklahoma history

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Harn Homestead will host Oklahoma on the Move: From Hooves to the Highway on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The family-friendly event will celebrate Oklahoma’s transportation story — from horse-drawn vehicles and early automobiles to classic cruisers and the legacy of Route 66.

Guests can explore a variety of vehicles on display, including Model T and Model A cars, 1930s-1950s Ford and Mercury vehicles from the V8 Club, muscle cars and private collector vehicles including a 1961 Chevrolet Apache truck and a 1966 Mustang. The Harn Homestead will also have horse-drawn vehicles on display, including its Surrey, which guests may step into for photo opportunities. Horse-drawn rides will not be offered.

“Oklahoma on the Move is a great way for families to experience the open-road spirit that helped shape our state,” said Kelly Frye, executive director of the Harn Homestead. “From wagons to Route 66, this event brings together history, community and hands-on fun across the Harn Homestead grounds.”
