Press release

Once again, Choctaw Nation and the Oklahoma State Department of Health entered into an agreement to provide flu vaccines to the citizens of 10.5 counties. Choctaw Nation will be supplying the vaccine and the LeFlore County Health Department will help with administering it to the public at no cost (FREE) for ages 5 years and up.

A drive through FREE flu shot clinic has been scheduled at the Donald W. Reynolds Center in Poteau on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 27TH FROM 8:00 UNTIL 11:30 a.m. Insurance or income eligibility is not a requirement.

There will be a simple form to be completed prior to driving through and will be available for pick up at the Chamber of Commerce, Poteau Daily Newspaper office, and will be run in the Poteau Daily News for filling out and bringing.

Also, there will be volunteers to assist with forms on site that day. If forms are not completed, you will be asked to pull over in the parking area, complete your form then get your vehicle back in line.

For children 5-18, nurses will be available inside the Donald W. Reynolds Center to provide flu shots. Flu Mist will not be available. Due to safety reasons all children will have to be vaccinated inside. An area for parking to take children inside will be designated.

There will be 2 entrances and 2 exits for this event. One entrance and one exit will be on Broadway across from Maria’s. Also, there will be one entrance and exit on South McKenna. Volunteers will be holding signs as this will make the drive through go smoothly.
